“One of our mottos is that we ethically and morally conduct each and every auction to produce the best sale for our clients…. as well as, providing the best opportunity for each of our bidding customers. With this motto in place at every auction, our pride shows.” SERVING INDIANA AND THE U.S. MIDWEST Let us speak with you about selling your real estate. As we’ve proven, your real estate can also be sold using “quick-sale methods” we have incorporated for years. Our proven track record of liquidating real estate, be it residential or commercial, farm acreage with dwellings/buildings (or acreage alone), or what-have-you, Dirk, Dianna and Sherry can get the job done. We prefer to advertise and show a property for a minimum of 4 to 5 weeks prior to the sale date…contact us as soon as you are ready to discuss the possibilities. Telephone Dianna or Dirk to set up a non-binding meeting with you to answer any real estate questions. The process doesn’t have to be complicated, we assure you. We cross our “T’s” and dot our “I’s” and provide you with a professional and thorough real estate transaction. Our commission rate is a bargain compared to typical real estate market commissions and fees. Period. Soon after our very first auction in 1977, it was apparent to our family that this region of Indiana and the Midwest needed a professional and stout liquidation facility -- an auction house. Thus in 1981, auction Pavlion plans were drawn. Construction of the 'Kenny Bland Auction Pavilion' was completed with a later addition in 1995. Our company is unique in that we are able to offer public auctions at the Pavilion, and of course, at your location, as well. At the Pavilion, we have over 5,000 square feet to display and conduct our estate/consignment public auctions, with a large outdoor, graveled area that is utilized during fair-weather months. Through the years, the Pavilion has been updated making it a comfortable, climate-controlled, modern facility with seating for extra large crowds, with gender restrooms, two large parking lots…..and let‘s talk about “Sherry‘s Cafe.” From the very first auction and continuing today, Sherry Bland provides a home-cooked menu (most items are “from-scratch”) each and every Pavilion sale with items to choose from such as biscuits/gravy, delicious coffees, cakes (and sometimes pies), beef vegetable soup, beef chili, chicken/noodles, polish sausages w/green beans, polish sausage dogs w/sauerkraut, and other surprise seasonal items (persimmon pudding, chicken salad sandwiches, squash pie, strawberry shortcake, etc). At the Kenny Bland Auction Pavilion, we typically offer weekly auctions, normally on Thursdays or Saturdays; check with our website calendars to confirm dates…or you can always call our telephone numbers listed here. We only accept quality-grade/functional consignments at our Pavilion, and as well, have a “pick up” option for our clients if they are unable to move their merchandise to us. We have been moving furniture, art/glass/porcelain, and boxed merchandise to our facility for clients since 1981, thus our experience and pride mandate a “handle with care” policy with each and every move we are commissioned to do.
We conduct equally as many "on-site location" auctions per year. Our personal property liquidations typically are due to an estate or a retirement downsizing or simply because the client is moving to a new residence, etc. Regularly we are commissioned to handle commercial and/or industrial liquidations, and are very experienced in this realm. We conduct a semi-annual motor pool auction for Indiana University in Bloomington, for example, and continue to liquidate many businesses in our region…
The KB staff consists of our family and dear friends, with most of them having been on board with us since the 1980s. One of our mottos is that we ethically and morally conduct each and every auction to produce the best sale for our clients, as well as, providing the best sale for each of our bidding customers. With this motto in place at every auction, our pride shows. Bland Hancock Certified Appraisals and KB A&A are second-generation businesses of the future and ones you can depend on through old-fashioned values and trust. We have young, third-generation staff members, and it’s exciting to watch them “growing up” in our business alongside us. “Col. Kenny” would be walking tall and shoulders back with pride …..
"Col. Kenny" began writing his memoirs of this family business early on in the late 1970s. His goal was to pen all of this into book form to publish at some point. These hand-written notes tell the honest, real stories of some of our most-unusual auctions and appraisals --- some of our most-memorable ones.... He respectfully talked about our clients ...He talked about our diverse customers and the stories that go along with all of these memories... And we continue onward…
